  Stiffer by design

  The rear half of Tern frames use a patented 3D structure we call DoubleTruss to build in extra stiffness. It helps resist torsional forces so our bikes flex less. That means increased stiffness and much better power transfer from the pedals to the rear wheel. The proof’s in the ride.

• FBL™ 2 Frame Joint

  Hidden benefits

  Three patented technologies and incredible precision manufacturing make this FBL 2 folding frame mechanism one of the best in the folding bike world. It's strong, safe and always easy to use thanks to the plain bearings.

  Repairability

  The patented technology allows the control lever to line up with the folding mechanism surface when folded, plus it rests on it, so it doesn't get in the way, plus there's no risk of damaging it in transit.

  Locking moulding

  Our patented technology uses four igus® bearings between the moving aluminium and steel parts so that folding is always smooth and without any unnecessary resistance.

  Stainless steel parts

  Good things are made to last. That's why, from the beginning, the designers wanted our folding mechanism to be repairable directly by our puzzle dealers. We stock every spare part in Tern or have it straight from the importer, so if you ever wear out your slide bearings, for example, your dealer will be able to fix them in minutes.

  Smart Lever

  The front and rear surfaces of the folding mechanism are shaped to lock into each other when closed in order to limit torsional movement of the frame.

  Fix the Tern Luggage Truss to the Luggage Socket and you can plug in your choice of front luggage: rack, basket, or bag. If it’s KlickFix compatible, it’ll work.

• Magnetix™ 2.0

  Keep it together

  The Magnetix 2.0 uses powerful magnets to keep your bike folded for situations like carrying your bike up and down stairs. With a pull force 10-15 Kgf, the Magnetix 2.0 will keep your bike folded even when being jostled and moved about.

  The new benchmark

  Five patented technologies and unique manufacturing technology add up to the strongest, stiffest folding handlepost available. The Physis uses a special manufacturing process called 3D forging, which forms the post from a single piece of aluminum, eliminating all welds.
