The Rossignol Hero Athlete GS 185 (R22) is a high-performance giant slalom ski designed for junior racers in the U16, U18 and U21 categories who want to benefit from technologies developed for the World Cup circuit. FIS-approved for junior competition, it combines outstanding stability, precision and control while featuring a slightly softer flex than senior FIS models, making it easier for developing athletes to improve their technique without sacrificing race performance.
At the heart of the ski is Rossignol's Line Control Technology (LCT), which maintains continuous ski-to-snow contact and eliminates unwanted reverse camber deformation under heavy loads. Combined with the Full Titanal Layer construction, the Poplar & Beech Wood Core and the ultra-fast Sintered UHD Base, the Hero Athlete GS delivers exceptional edge grip, stability and confidence at race speeds.
Who are these skis for?
The Rossignol Hero Athlete GS is designed primarily for junior giant slalom racers looking to transition to World Cup-inspired equipment while benefiting from a more forgiving flex than full senior FIS skis.
Ideal for:
How do the skis perform on the slope?
The Hero Athlete GS 185 is engineered for long, high-speed GS turns with outstanding stability. Its 27-meter turn radius keeps the ski composed even at very high speeds while providing powerful support throughout the entire turn.
LCT ensures constant edge contact with the snow and minimizes vibrations under heavy loads. The Full Titanal Layer increases torsional rigidity and energy transfer, while the Oversized Sidecut allows smoother turn initiation and highly precise carving.

Full Camber profile delivers the ultimate power, precision, and rebound for uncompromising FIS Race level performance.
The Full Titanal Layer provides a solid mechanism to restore maximum energy and power in heavy turns, extreme conditions or high speeds.
Rossignol's Line Control Technology harnesses pure power and energy, providing optimal stability and line control in all conditions. The integration of the central vertical power rail in the wood core, eliminates counter-flex to ensure constant stable snow contact, giving dynamic control of your line while retaining the ski's energy. Line Control Technology (LCT) adds a central power rail to the middle of the wood core to eliminate counter-bending, allowing you to direct the ski’s energy towards steering, no matter the condition.
RECTANGULAR FULL SIDEWALL construction feature a horizontal layering of core materials combined with full-length vertical sidewalls to deliver optimized edge grip, precision, balance, and power.
Sintered UHD Base offers maximum glide for maximum speed.
PEFC certified Beech Wood Core provide optimized dampness and stability using materials that help reduce the environmental impact of the product life cycle.
This specific tip c o n s t r u c t i o n involves stepping the end-points of the top two layers, one metal and the other fibreglass. The objective is to reduce tip inertia and weight, creating a ski that is livelier and more receptive. This construction also delivers better torsional control of the tip, for more effective grip and very high precision in turns.
The Oversize sidecuts combine the highly-shaped sidecuts of carving skis with current underfoot widths. The width at the tip and tail delivers effective grip as well as power and precision. The underfoot width gives increased control and better hold in turns. OVERSIZE sidecuts offer maneuverability, power and control.
