Understanding the specifications

Flex index 95

The flex index indicates the approximate stiffness of a ski boot when pressure is applied to the cuff. ATOMIC Hawx Prime 95 W have a flex index of 95, corresponding to a moderately sporty performance character.

This value provides firmer support than softer recreational models and allows more effective pressure control during dynamic skiing. At the same time, the boot is not exceptionally stiff like a dedicated racing model, making it suitable for longer skiing sessions and a combination of sporty and more relaxed descents.

Actual perceived stiffness depends on body weight, physical strength, skiing technique, and temperature. Flex ratings are not uniformly standardized between manufacturers. The model also features Flex Control technology, allowing its stiffness characteristics to be adapted to individual requirements.

100 mm last – Medium Width / MV

ATOMIC Hawx Prime 95 W feature a nominal 100 mm last, corresponding to the Medium Width / Medium Volume category.

This width is primarily intended for feet of average width and volume. It provides balanced space for comfortable foot positioning while allowing sufficiently secure retention for performance-oriented skiing.

Memory Fit, Mimic, and Fully Heat Moldable technologies further expand the possibilities for individual customization. The 100 mm measurement is nominal, and the actual width varies with shell size. Instep height, heel shape, and overall foot volume should also be considered when choosing the correct fit.

Four-buckle closure system – 6000-Series Aluminium Buckles

The model uses a traditional four-buckle closure system featuring 6000-Series Aluminium Buckles.

This system allows independent adjustment of different areas of the shell and cuff. The skier can therefore customize retention around the foot, instep, and shin according to individual needs.

Traditional buckles provide secure mechanical fastening and stable contact between the leg and the boot. Combined with the 35mm Velcro Strap, they create a reliable closure system suitable for regular and more performance-oriented skiing.

Weight: 1,800 g / size 24–24.5

The manufacturer specifies a weight of 1,800 g per ski boot in size 24/24.5.

Actual weight may vary depending on the size. The stated value primarily serves as a reference when comparing different ski boot models.

Considering the polyurethane construction, four-buckle closure system, and Prolite, Flex Control, and Energy Backbone technologies, the model offers a balanced combination of strength, stability, and weight. Prolite helps optimize material usage through strategically positioned reinforcements in the most heavily stressed areas of the shell.

Forward lean: 15°

ATOMIC Hawx Prime 95 W have a forward lean angle of 15°.

This parameter influences the basic position of the shin and the overall geometry of the skiing stance. It affects how the skier applies pressure to the front of the boot and maintains balance throughout a turn.

The 15° value represents the model's construction geometry. The supplied technical specifications do not indicate that the forward lean angle is adjustable.

Ramp angle: 4°

The 4° ramp angle describes the construction angle of the foot's position inside the ski boot.

Together with the cuff's forward lean, it influences lower-leg positioning, balance, and the way pressure is transferred during skiing.

The resulting stance depends on the skier's anatomy, ski construction, and binding system. Therefore, the 4° value represents one element of the boot's overall geometry rather than a universally ideal setting for every skier.

Sizes: 22/22.5–27/27.5

ATOMIC Hawx Prime 95 W are available in Mondopoint sizes from 22/22.5 to 27/27.5.

This range reflects the model's women's-specific design and provides sizing options for skiers with different foot lengths.

Choosing the correct size requires consideration of foot length, width, and volume, as well as heel shape and instep height. Heat molding can improve the fit but cannot replace choosing the correct shell size.

True Size Mondopoint 22

True Size Mondopoint 22 is a construction feature designed to maintain appropriate shell proportions even in smaller women's sizes.

Correct shell length and shape are important for secure foot positioning, precise ski control, and efficient energy transfer.

This technology is particularly relevant for skiers with smaller feet who require reliable support and appropriate functionality even in the smallest sizes of the model range.

This allows contact between the foot and liner to be optimized, uncomfortable pressure points to be reduced, and stable foot positioning to be supported. Proper customization is important not only for comfort but also for more precise ski control.

Ankle Lock (AL)

Ankle Lock (AL) is a technology designed to improve ankle and heel stabilization inside the ski boot.

More secure retention in these areas helps limit unwanted foot movement within the shell, which is important for precise energy transfer and control when guiding the skis.

In the Hawx Prime 95 W, Ankle Lock complements the Mimic Silver Liner and contributes to a more secure connection between the foot and the boot. The result is improved heel stability, more accurate response under load, and greater confidence through turns.

Fully Heat Moldable

Fully Heat Moldable refers to the ability to heat customize the ski boot liner to the individual anatomy of the foot.

During professional bootfitting, the material can be adjusted in areas where space, comfort, and retention need to be optimized.

Heat molding can help reduce uncomfortable pressure and improve contact between the foot and the boot. However, proper customization always begins with choosing the correct shell size and cannot fully compensate for incorrectly sized ski boots.

Hawx Fixed Tongue

Hawx Fixed Tongue is a liner tongue construction designed to provide stable and consistent contact around the instep and front of the shin.

The fixed tongue structure supports even liner positioning and helps transmit pressure when loading the front of the cuff.

In the Hawx Prime 95 W, it represents an important part of the functional Mimic Silver Liner construction. The supplied technical specifications do not indicate an option for independently repositioning the tongue.

3D Stretch Toe Box

3D Stretch Toe Box is a technology that increases flexibility in the front of the liner around the toes.

The more elastic material allows better adaptation to individual toe shapes and supports more natural toe positioning.

This technology is particularly beneficial during all-day skiing, helping maintain comfort in the forefoot even when the heel and instep are securely retained.

Flex Control

Flex Control is a technology that allows the stiffness of the ski boot to be adapted according to individual requirements and preferred skiing characteristics.

The ability to modify flex is particularly useful for skiers who want to match the boot's behavior to their technique, physical strength, and the way they apply pressure to the cuff.

In the Hawx Prime 95 W, Flex Control is an important element of the performance-oriented construction. It allows the skier to adapt the feeling of support and boot response during skiing. The exact adjustment range and procedure are not specified in the supplied technical documentation.

Adaptive Fit System (AFS) Cuff

Adaptive Fit System (AFS) Cuff allows the upper cuff to be customized to different calf shapes and volumes.

A properly adjusted cuff supports even shin contact and stable support during skiing.

In women's ski boots, the ability to accommodate different calf shapes is particularly important because lower-leg anatomy can vary considerably. AFS Cuff helps optimize both comfort and construction functionality.

Energy Backbone

Energy Backbone is a construction technology designed to increase strength and stability in the rear section of the ski boot.

The reinforced area helps maintain the required support under load and promotes efficient energy transfer between the leg and the ski.

In the Hawx Prime 95 W, Energy Backbone contributes to more stable behavior when carving turns, changing direction, and skiing more dynamically. Its benefits become particularly noticeable during active skiing, when the skier requires firmer support and more confident control.

Dual-Sided Cuff Alignment

Dual-Sided Cuff Alignment allows lateral adjustment of the cuff position according to the anatomy of the lower leg.

Correct alignment can help achieve a more natural leg position and optimize contact between the shin and the ski boot.

This feature is useful during professional bootfitting, especially when the cuff needs to be adjusted to accommodate the natural alignment of the lower legs. Adjustments should be performed by a qualified specialist with consideration for the skier's biomechanics.
