NORDICA Speedmachine 3 100 BOA GW

Men’s/unisex all-mountain ski boots with a sporty character, a flex index of 100, a 100 mm last and a combination of the BOA® Fit System with two Micro ALU buckles. The NORDICA Speedmachine 3 100 BOA GW is designed for skiers who want a versatile performance-oriented boot for full days across the entire resort and are looking for a balanced combination of precision, support, comfort and easy individual adjustment.

For this generation, Nordica redesigned its Tri Force Construction to work seamlessly with the BOA® Fit System. The goal is a more even wrap around the foot, improved foothold and efficient energy transmission when controlling the skis. BOA® provides fine micro-adjustment around the lower part of the boot, while two Micro ALU buckles and a 45 mm Power Strap stabilize the cuff area.

A flex of 100 is a very attractive compromise for sporty skiers who already want solid support and a more precise response but do not need the stiffness of higher-performance models with flex ratings of 110, 120 or 130. The 3D Cork Fit Primaloft® liner supports precise foot positioning and thermal comfort, while both the shell and liner can be further customized. The result is a versatile Speedmachine for long days on the mountain as well as a more dynamic skiing style.

Who are these ski boots for?

The Nordica Speedmachine 3 100 BOA GW is primarily designed for recreational-sport to sporty skiers who want a versatile all-mountain boot with enough support for active skiing, but without an excessively stiff and physically demanding construction.

A flex of 100 already provides very good support when driving the skis and skiing at higher speeds, yet it remains more accessible than stiffer performance-oriented models. It is therefore well suited to skiers who have developed solid technique, ski regularly and want more precision and control from their boots.

The 100 mm last represents a medium-volume fit. It offers more precise foot hold than roomier HV models, but it is not as tight or race-oriented as narrow LV or race boots.

This model is suitable for skiers who:

  • ski at a recreational-sport to sporty level
  • want a versatile all-mountain boot
  • see flex 100 as a balance between performance and comfort
  • want precise ski control without extreme stiffness
  • prefer a medium 100 mm last
  • want the micro-adjustability of the BOA® Fit System
  • appreciate the combination of BOA® and conventional buckles
  • want the option to customize both shell and liner
  • ski all day in varying conditions
  • want a more comfortable alternative to stiffer performance models

How do the boots perform on snow?

The Speedmachine 3 100 BOA GW is focused on smooth, precise and versatile sporty skiing. The 100 flex provides enough resistance when driving into the front of the boot, while still allowing more natural movement of the cuff than stiffer performance-oriented options.

This is particularly useful for all-day skiing. The boot provides the support needed for faster skiing and carving turns, but it does not become unnecessarily demanding at a more relaxed pace or in changing snow conditions.

An important role is played by the combination of the BOA® Fit System and Tri Force Construction. According to Nordica, the redesigned shell is engineered to work with BOA® in order to improve overall fit and skiing comfort.

On snow, you can expect:

  • a sporty but still manageable character
  • solid and smooth response from flex 100
  • efficient energy transfer to the skis
  • precise turn control
  • stable support at higher speeds
  • even wrapping around the lower foot thanks to BOA®
  • good cuff stabilization from two Micro ALU buckles
  • versatile use across different piste conditions
  • lower physical demands than stiffer performance boots
  • comfort suitable for long days on the mountain

How to understand the parameters

Flex index 100

The exact flex index of this model is 100.

Flex index provides an approximate indication of how much resistance the boot offers when the shin presses forward against the cuff. In general, a higher number means more resistance, stronger support and a more direct response for sporty skiing. Lower values are easier to flex and usually offer a more comfortable character.

A flex of 100 is suitable for sporty skiing without becoming excessively demanding. It provides firm enough support for active ski control while still allowing relatively natural movement through the cuff.

In practice, flex 100 offers:

  • solid support for sporty skiing
  • more precise transmission of movements
  • good control at higher speeds
  • support for carving turns
  • a smoother character than higher flex ratings
  • lower physical demands than models with flex 110–130
  • a good compromise for all-day skiing

Flex ratings are not completely standardized between manufacturers. Perceived stiffness can vary depending on boot construction and size, temperature and the skier’s physical characteristics.

100 mm last

The stated last width is 100 mm.

This is a medium-width fit that provides a very versatile compromise between precision and comfort. It is not as narrow as typical race or LV models, while at the same time it does not provide as much internal volume as HV constructions.

Correct boot width is important not only for comfort but also for transferring movements to the skis. If the foot has too much room inside the boot, some movement can be lost before it reaches the shell.

The combination of a 100 mm last, BOA® Fit System and individual customization options helps achieve a stable and precise fit without an unnecessarily tight feel.

Technologies

BOA® FIT SYSTEM

The BOA® FIT SYSTEM uses a dial and cable system for precise adjustment around the lower part of the foot.

Its main advantage is very fine micro-adjustability. Tension can be precisely matched to the individual foot and easily fine-tuned during the day as needed.

Compared with localized pressure from conventional buckles, BOA® allows a more even wrap around the lower shell.

Key benefits:

  • precise micro-adjustment
  • fine control of closure tension
  • even foot wrap
  • stable foot retention
  • easy adjustment during the day
  • fast and intuitive operation
  • effective integration with Tri Force Construction

Easy Entry Soft Flap

Easy Entry Soft Flap technology makes the boots easier to put on and take off.

The entry area of the shell is designed to open more easily when inserting the foot, creating additional space.

This is particularly useful in low temperatures, when polyurethane naturally becomes stiffer.

Benefits:

  • easier entry
  • easier removal
  • less force required
  • greater day-to-day convenience
  • easier handling in cold conditions

Infrared

Infrared technology allows professional localized shell customization.

If the boot creates pressure in a specific area, that exact section of the shell can be modified without unnecessarily increasing the overall internal volume.

This makes it possible to:

  • address specific pressure points
  • locally modify the shell
  • adapt the boot to individual foot anatomy
  • maintain precise support in other areas
  • improve comfort without unnecessary loss of precision

Strap 45mm

Strap 45mm refers to the wide 45 mm Power Strap positioned at the top of the boot.

The Power Strap helps stabilize the cuff and improves contact between the shin and the upper part of the ski boot. During sporty skiing, it supports smoother movement transmission and more precise interaction with the flex.

Key benefits:

  • more stable upper boot
  • improved shin-to-cuff contact
  • more precise use of the flex
  • smoother transfer of movements
  • additional retention above the conventional buckles

Tri Force Construction

Tri Force Construction is Nordica’s shell construction technology designed to combine support, comfort and efficient energy transmission.

On the Speedmachine 3 100 BOA GW, Nordica redesigned the shell to integrate more effectively with the BOA® Fit System. The aim is to improve foot positioning while maintaining the functional performance of the shell during skiing.

In practice, the technology supports:

  • efficient energy transmission
  • more precise shell response
  • stable foot support
  • effective interaction between shell and BOA®
  • comfort during all-day use
  • a balanced combination of rigidity and flexibility across different zones

Tri-Fit Technology

Tri-Fit Technology focuses on individual boot customization.

The goal is to coordinate the shell, liner and the skier’s foot anatomy so the final fit can be adapted as closely as possible to the individual skier.

Correct customization can improve:

  • comfort
  • foot retention
  • stability
  • steering precision
  • movement transmission
  • all-day usability

Shell construction

The Speedmachine 3 100 BOA GW uses a Bimat PU shell, while the cuff is also specified as Bimat PU.

The construction combines flex 100, a 100 mm last, the BOA® Fit System, two Micro ALU buckles and a 45 mm Power Strap.

The technical construction includes:

  • Bimat PU shell
  • Bimat PU cuff
  • flex index 100
  • 100 mm last
  • BOA® Fit System
  • 2 Micro ALU buckles
  • Tri Force Construction
  • Infrared
  • Forward Lean Shell Rotation 13°
  • 45 mm Power Strap

The result is a sporty all-mountain construction combining firm support, precise transmission of movements and enough comfort for all-day use.

3D Cork Fit Primaloft® liner

According to the technical specifications, this model is equipped with a 3D Cork Fit Primaloft® liner.

Cork elements help create more stable contact around the foot and ankle and support precise positioning of the foot inside the shell. Primaloft® contributes to thermal comfort during cold ski days.

The liner supports:

  • anatomical foot positioning
  • stable foot retention
  • more precise contact with the shell
  • individual customization
  • thermal comfort thanks to Primaloft®
  • comfort during long ski days

BOA® Fit System + 2 Micro ALU

The closure system combines the BOA® Fit System with two Micro ALU buckles.

BOA® provides precise and even adjustment around the lower foot, while the two conventional buckles stabilize the upper part of the boot. The system is completed by a 45 mm Power Strap.

This combination provides:

  • precise adjustment of the lower boot
  • micro-adjustment through BOA®
  • stable cuff retention with conventional buckles
  • independent adjustment of different boot zones
  • good support for sporty skiing
  • quick changes to closure tension during the day

45 mm Power Strap

The upper section of the boot is completed by a 45 mm Power Strap.

The wider strap helps stabilize the cuff and maintain firmer contact between the shin and the boot. This is particularly important during active skiing, when the skier works against the flex and needs a precise response.

The Power Strap contributes to:

  • greater upper-boot stability
  • better shin contact
  • more precise cuff interaction
  • smoother movement transmission
  • additional support alongside the two Micro ALU buckles

GripWalk Extra-Grip

The model uses a GripWalk Extra-Grip sole.

GripWalk is designed to provide more natural and comfortable walking in ski boots. The shaped sole profile makes it easier for the foot to roll through each step and improves practicality when moving around without skis.

The Extra-Grip version is also focused on providing more secure contact between the sole and the walking surface.

Benefits:

  • more natural walking
  • more comfortable movement without skis
  • easier walking around the resort
  • better practicality away from the slopes
  • improved walking comfort in ski boots

For correct use, the boots must be paired with bindings compatible with GripWalk soles.

Comparison with softer Speedmachine models

Thanks to its 100 flex, the Speedmachine 3 100 BOA GW has a sportier character than softer Speedmachine models. Compared with boots around flex 80–90, it provides more resistance when loading the cuff and stronger support during active ski control.

A softer model will generally be:

  • easier to flex
  • more comfortable at a relaxed pace
  • more forgiving of technical mistakes
  • less physically demanding

The Speedmachine 3 100 BOA GW, on the other hand, offers:

  • firmer support
  • more precise response
  • better control at a sporty pace
  • more stability at higher speeds
  • more efficient ski control

Flex 100 therefore represents a useful middle ground for skiers who already want sporty performance but do not need an especially stiff boot.

Comparison with stiffer performance-oriented Speedmachine models

Compared with Speedmachine models with higher flex ratings, the 100 version is more accessible and less physically demanding.

Stiffer models provide more support for very dynamic skiing and stronger resistance through the cuff, but they also require more strength, better technique and more active input from the skier.

Compared with higher-flex models, the Speedmachine 3 100 BOA GW will be:

  • easier to flex
  • more comfortable for all-day skiing
  • less physically demanding
  • more forgiving at a relaxed pace
  • suitable for a broader range of sporty skiers

A higher flex makes more sense primarily for heavier, very dynamic or performance-oriented skiers who want maximum support and a firmer response.

Why choose the NORDICA Speedmachine 3 100 BOA GW?
