TECNICA Mach BOA MV 130 GW

The TECNICA Mach BOA MV 130 GW is a high-performance all-mountain ski boot for athletic and highly experienced skiers looking for a combination of high stiffness, precise foot retention and a more versatile medium-volume fit. An exact flex of 130 and a 100 mm last give the boot a distinctly performance-oriented character for skiers who can take advantage of strong support during dynamic skiing but do not want to move into an extremely narrow race shell.

The anatomically shaped lower shell is specifically designed around the BOA® Fit System, which replaces traditional buckles over the foot. Turning the dial progressively and evenly adjusts the closure of the lower shell, while the cuff remains secured by two micro-adjustable buckles. The result is a combination of precise foot wrapping, firm cuff retention and the ability to quickly fine-tune the fit according to current needs.

Tecnica complements the performance construction with technologies including C.A.S. Shell, NFS (Natural Foot Shape), QUICK INSTEP, LIFT LOCK BUCKLES and Grip Walk. The High Performance liner with N.F.S. Plus and Floating Tongue construction supports comfort and precise foot positioning, while the 45 mm strap helps secure the upper cuff. The Mach BOA MV 130 GW therefore combines high performance with a modern closure system and a construction designed for full days of athletic skiing.

Who are these ski boots for?

According to the official product classification, the TECNICA Mach BOA MV 130 GW is a men’s/unisex all-mountain ski boot for athletic skiers. A flex of 130 requires sufficient strength, good technique and an active skiing style, making this model particularly suitable for experienced skiers who expect substantial support and precise response from their boots.

The model is particularly suitable for skiers who:

  • ski aggressively and have well-developed technique
  • can effectively work with a high flex of 130
  • prefer precise and responsive performance during dynamic skiing
  • are looking for a Medium Volume fit with a 100 mm last
  • want the BOA® Fit System around the foot
  • prefer the combination of BOA® and two micro-adjustable cuff buckles
  • require strong support under higher loads
  • want the possibility of professional C.A.S. Shell customization
  • appreciate a construction designed to make entry and exit easier
  • want GripWalk soles for more comfortable walking away from the skis

The Mach BOA MV 130 GW is not primarily intended for beginners or skiers looking for a soft, highly forgiving boot. Its performance potential is best utilized by a technically proficient skier capable of actively flexing and loading a stiff boot.

How do the boots perform on the slopes?

The character of the model is primarily defined by its 130 flex. During athletic skiing, the shell provides strong support in forward flex and allows the skier to work precisely with pressure applied to the skis. This becomes particularly important at higher speeds, during more aggressive turn execution and whenever the skier needs consistent support under increased loads.

The 100 mm last represents a medium-volume solution that is not as extremely narrow as a dedicated race construction. The Mach BOA MV 130 GW therefore combines high performance stiffness with a more versatile fit profile.

The BOA® Fit System adds another important element. Instead of the localized pressure created by traditional lower buckles, it allows the closure of the lower shell to be adjusted progressively. For an athletic skier, this means greater control over how closely the shell wraps around the foot according to the desired level of retention and changing needs throughout the day.

How to understand the parameters

Flex 130

The exact flex index of 130 confirms the very stiff, performance-oriented nature of the model and corresponds with the manufacturer’s broader classification of 120 and above. The boot provides substantial resistance during forward flex and is designed for skiers who can use this stiffness while actively working with their skis.

The advantage of a high flex is strong support under dynamic loads and more precise pressure management. At the same time, flex 130 requires appropriate technique, strength and physical characteristics. For a lighter or less experienced skier, it may be unnecessarily demanding.

Flex indices are not completely standardized between manufacturers. The value of 130 should therefore be considered together with the boot’s overall construction, the skier’s weight and strength, skiing style and individual preferences.

100 mm last – Medium Volume

The exact 100 mm last corresponds with the MV – Medium Volume designation and gives the boot its medium-volume fit character. Compared with narrow race models, it provides more versatile space for the foot without turning the Mach BOA MV 130 GW into a wide, comfort-oriented boot.

For an athletic skier, sufficient foot stability is essential so that movements can be efficiently transferred into the shell. The final fit, however, cannot be determined solely from the 100 mm figure. Foot volume, heel shape, instep height and overall foot anatomy are equally important.

Technologies

BOA®

The BOA® Fit System is integrated into the lower shell of the Mach BOA MV 130 GW and controls closure around the foot. Using the dial, the skier can progressively adjust tension and create a more evenly distributed wrap than the localized closure produced by individual traditional lower buckles.

For a performance ski boot, the ability to precisely regulate closure is particularly valuable. The skier can adjust the fit according to their foot and desired level of retention, while two conventional micro-adjustable buckles remain on the cuff.

C.A.S. Shell

C.A.S. Shell expands the possibilities for individually adapting the shell to the skier’s foot. This is especially important in a high-performance boot, where correct foot positioning affects not only comfort but also the precision with which movements are transferred to the skis.

Professional bootfitting can be used to refine the final fit so that the boot better matches the anatomy of the individual skier. The supplied information does not specify the exact range or process of C.A.S. Shell modification, so specific adjustment methods or values should not be inferred beyond the manufacturer’s stated information.

Grip Walk

The model uses an ISO 23223 GripWalk sole. GripWalk construction is designed to provide more comfortable, natural walking away from the skis and improved contact with the ground when moving around the ski area.

The boots require ski bindings compatible with GripWalk soles.

NFS (Natural Foot Shape)

NFS (Natural Foot Shape) relates to a construction designed around a more natural foot anatomy. In the Mach BOA MV 130 GW, it complements the medium-volume 100 mm fit and helps combine athletic foot retention with anatomically focused shaping.

The liner additionally uses N.F.S. Plus, further extending this concept to the interface between the foot and the inside of the boot.

ECO DESIGN

ECO DESIGN represents Tecnica’s approach to product construction with consideration for materials and the overall design of the ski boot. In the Mach BOA MV 130 GW, this approach is also reflected in the liner specification, which is identified as Ecodesign.

The supplied technical information does not specify a particular percentage of recycled materials or quantify the environmental benefit of this specific model, so such figures should not be assumed.

LIFT LOCK BUCKLES

LIFT LOCK BUCKLES relates to the cuff buckles and focuses on more convenient handling when putting the boots on and taking them off. Together with QUICK INSTEP, this helps make everyday use of an otherwise very stiff and performance-oriented boot more practical.

According to the technical specifications, the model has two micro-adjustable cuff buckles, while the lower shell is secured by the BOA® Fit System.

MATERIAL TRACIABILITY PROGRAM

MATERIAL TRACIABILITY PROGRAM is a manufacturer-listed program associated with the identification and traceability of materials used in production. It forms part of Tecnica’s broader approach to materials and the product life cycle.

The supplied information does not specify particular percentages, certifications or exact material outcomes of the program for this model, so its significance should only be described within the scope confirmed by the manufacturer.

QUICK INSTEP

QUICK INSTEP is a construction feature around the instep designed to make putting the ski boot on and taking it off easier. In a stiff model with a 130 flex, easier access to the shell is particularly practical, as the high stiffness of the construction can otherwise make entry and exit more demanding.

The technical description additionally specifies Double Quick Instep, representing the version of this concept used directly in the shell of the Mach BOA MV 130 GW.

PU shell and PP cuff

The lower shell is made from PU – polyurethane, while the cuff uses PP – polypropylene. The shell construction also incorporates Double Quick Instep and C.A.S. Shell.

The overall construction corresponds with the performance-oriented character of a 130-flex boot. The firm shell provides the support required for active skiing, while the available shell-adjustment possibilities allow attention to be paid to achieving a precise final fit.

The manufacturer also specifies a 12.0° cuff angle, which forms part of the boot’s basic geometry and skiing stance.

High Performance N.F.S. Plus liner

The liner is specified as Ecodesign – High Performance – N.F.S. Plus – Floating Tongue. It is therefore clearly oriented toward the performance character of the model while still providing the comfort required for longer days of skiing.

Floating Tongue is a construction feature of the liner tongue. However, the supplied information does not describe its exact mechanism or adjustment range, so a particular method of repositioning or individual adjustment should not be assumed.

The combination of the liner, 100 mm shell and BOA® Fit System is important to the overall feel of the boot. The objective is secure foot positioning suitable for performance skiing without requiring an extremely narrow race construction.

BOA® Fit System and two micro-adjustable buckles

The closure system combines the BOA® Fit System in the lower shell with two micro-adjustable buckles on the cuff. This solution separates the method of retention according to the different areas of the boot.

BOA® controls the wrap around the foot, while the pair of conventional buckles allows the cuff closure to be adjusted independently. Micro adjustment provides finer control over buckle tension and allows the upper part of the boot to be secured more precisely.

45 mm Power Strap

The upper cuff is secured by a 45 mm strap, complementing the two buckles and helping create a firm connection between the shin, tongue and cuff of the boot.

Its 45 mm width provides a substantial contact area around the upper part of the boot, consistent with the performance-oriented character of the model. The supplied information does not specify any additional proprietary mechanism or particular material construction for the strap, so these characteristics should not be assumed.

Mach BOA MV 130 GW: high performance without an extremely narrow race fit

One of the defining qualities of the TECNICA Mach BOA MV 130 GW is the combination of a high 130 flex with a medium-volume 100 mm shell. This makes the model particularly attractive to experienced athletic skiers who want very strong support and precise control but whose foot shape or intended use does not require an extremely narrow race shell.

The BOA® Fit System simultaneously provides a different approach to securing the lower foot, while two micro-adjustable buckles maintain conventional, precise closure around the cuff. Combined with C.A.S. Shell, N.F.S. Plus and Floating Tongue, the result is a boot focused not only on performance but also on achieving a high-quality final fit.

The manufacturer specifies a weight of 1,770 g in MP size 26.5 and a cuff angle of 12.0°. The model uses ISO 23223 GripWalk soles and is available in the Sand colorway. The manufacturer code is 101G52G0-D71 and the product code is N25000957.

Why choose the TECNICA Mach BOA MV 130 GW?

The TECNICA Mach BOA MV 130 GW is designed for experienced athletic skiers who want the substantial support of a 130 flex, a precise 100 mm Medium Volume fit and the modern BOA® system for an even wrap around the foot. This is not a soft comfort boot for beginners, but a high-performance all-mountain model for skiers capable of taking advantage of its stiffness during dynamic and technically precise skiing.

The combination of a PU shell with C.A.S. Shell and Double Quick Instep, a PP cuff with two micro-adjustable buckles, a High Performance N.F.S. Plus liner, 45 mm strap and GripWalk soles creates a technically sophisticated performance boot that combines high-level support, precise retention and practical everyday usability. The Mach BOA MV 130 GW is therefore an excellent option for demanding skiers who expect strong support, control and the ability to refine the fit around their individual foot shape from an all-mountain ski boot.
