In 1952 Kazuo Tajima establishes the company. In 1967 the company officialy took the name Phenix and changed the form of business from wholesale trader to manufacture. Products constantly worn and tested by a number of famous World Champion and Olympic Medalists has been a great resource of products innovation.

Among his many and varied accomplishments, he developed plastic skis, promoted faltboote kayaking, and was one of the first Japanese to master waterskiing. This Spirit has resonated with leading Japanese athletes including alpine skier Akira Sasaki and world-famous adventurer Ken Noguchi, who became Phenix partners. With their input, Phenix will continue to surprise the sports world.

Ever since the year of 1993, Phenix has been the official uniform supplier of Norwegian Alpine Ski Team. Very special professional skier with Phenix partnership is Aksel Lund Svindal, a well-known World Cup alpine ski racer. Phenix has proved itself to be number one in skiwear by selected as the official supplier to the Ski Association of Japan beginning winter 2006.
