MICHELIN - tyres and tubes for bicycles

Who doesn't know him, the Michelin? Officially called "Bibendum", it is one of the most famous and powerful trademarks or symbols in the world. And so, in addition to the automotive and motorcycle sectors, Michelin also claims the highest quality and performance, grip and safety in bicycle tyres.

The success story of the French company based in Clermont-Ferrand began in 1891 with the invention of the first removable bicycle tyre. A story that continues to this day, interspersed with many milestones such as the introduction of the first folding tyre in 1979, the first high-density carcass tyre in 1983 and the first tubeless mountain bike tyre in 1999.

In doing so, Michelin has benefited not only from tradition and more than 100 years of experience, but also from its extremely diverse know-how. Like no other manufacturer, Michelin can build on the knowledge and experience of a vast array of of different areas of development and production - from bicycles to Formula One racing cars to space shuttles.

In addition, Michelin has traditionally pursued a philosophy of maintaining close partnerships in competitive sports at the highest levels ofwhether it's Formula 1, Moto-GP or the Tour de France, and consistently using them to test technologies and products in absolutely limited areas and under maximum demands.

The knowledge gained from this contributes to the fact that every Michelin product ultimately bears the high-tech label. This is of course particularly true of Michelin bicycle tyres, which, divided into the product groups racing bicycles, (e)mountain bikes and city/trekking, offer optimally adapted tyres for each area of use.

For example, Michelin Power Road tyres with the new X-Race rubber compound, highly specialised competition tyres support ambitious athletes and professionals in the battle for decisive seconds. Absolute reliability and safety are top priorities for city and trekking tyres and this is ensured by PROTEK technology. Progressive new developments are also taking place in the mountain bike sector, enabling athletes to exceed their personal limits. Whether it's the E-GUM-X rubber compound of the E-Wild E-MTB or the Downhill Shield carcass of the all-new Michelin DH range: Michelin knows from decades of experience and the best contacts with today's cyclists and recreational riders what cyclists want, and they offer a tire that everyone can choose.
