DALBELLO DRS 90 LC

The DALBELLO DRS 90 LC are junior race-oriented ski boots with a lower cuff, based on the performance-focused DRS line but adapted to the needs of lighter and junior skiers. The LC – Low Cuff designation refers to the lower cuff construction, which combines with a flex index of 90 to provide a more usable balance of support and flex for skiers who do not yet need the stiffness of adult race boots.

At the heart of the boot is a narrow 98 mm RACE PU shell, a traditional two-piece OVERLAP DESIGN construction and a four-buckle D5 closure system. The boots focus on precise transmission of movements towards the ski edges, stable turn control and firm support during performance and race-oriented skiing. This is therefore not a comfort-focused junior boot for beginners, but a technically demanding model for highly skilled young skiers.

Another significant advantage is the MY FIT system, which, according to the supplied information, allows both the shell and liner to be customised. Combined with the anatomically focused Contour 4™ design, this makes it possible to adapt the precise race-oriented construction more closely to the individual foot.

Who are these ski boots for?

The DALBELLO DRS 90 LC are primarily intended for highly skilled junior skiers with a performance or race-oriented approach who want a more precise and supportive boot but need a lower cuff and more accessible flex suited to their body proportions and strength.

This model is particularly suitable for juniors who:

  • ski at a performance or racing level and demand precise transmission of movements to the skis
  • need the lower LC cuff, which is better suited to junior or lighter skiers
  • are able to actively work with a flex of 90
  • prefer a narrow 98 mm shell and a more precise hold around the foot
  • want a four-buckle construction with aluminium buckles
  • will benefit from individual shell and liner customisation through MY FIT
  • are looking for a boot positioned between performance all-mountain and race-oriented use
  • want a construction derived from the performance character of the DRS line

For a beginner or purely recreational junior skier, such a narrow and supportive construction may be unnecessarily demanding. The DRS 90 LC makes the most sense for skiers who already have well-developed technique and can take advantage of the boot’s performance-oriented character.

How do the ski boots perform on snow?

The character of the DALBELLO DRS 90 LC is built around precision, support and rapid transmission of movements to the skis. OVERLAP DESIGN uses the traditional overlapping shell construction together with rigid RACE PU material, creating a stable connection between the skier’s leg and the ski.

Under active load, the 90 flex helps transfer pressure to the ski, while the supportive shell promotes lateral power transmission towards the edges. This is particularly noticeable in dynamically carved turns, where a rapid response to leg movements and stable support during edging are important.

The lower LC cuff also changes the way the boot behaves compared with a higher-cuff construction. It allows junior or lighter skiers to work with the boot more effectively and make better use of its flex without having to overcome an excessively high cuff.

How to read the parameters

Flex 90

The DALBELLO DRS 90 LC have a flex index of 90. In the context of a junior race-oriented model, this represents a relatively supportive setup intended for skiers who can already actively flex the boot and use its support during dynamic skiing.

Combined with the LC construction, flex 90 also makes sense for lighter or junior skiers for whom a significantly stiffer race boot could be overly demanding. The objective is not to make the boot as stiff as possible, but to provide sufficient support while retaining a flex that the intended skier can actually use.

Flex indexes are not completely standardised between manufacturers, so the number itself should not be used as the only criterion when selecting ski boots.

98 mm last

The shell has a 98 mm last, corresponding to a narrow, close-fitting construction. This type of fit reduces unwanted movement of the foot inside the boot and supports more precise transmission of movements to the ski.

Correct foot positioning is particularly important in a race-oriented junior boot. A shell that is too large can reduce control and precision, while an excessively tight boot can create problematic pressure points. With the DRS 90 LC, it therefore makes sense to have the correct size and any individual modifications assessed by a professional bootfitter.

Technologies

Adjustable Rear Cuff Spoiler

Adjustable Rear Cuff Spoiler allows the rear section of the cuff to be adjusted to better suit the requirements of the individual skier. In a performance and race-oriented boot, this type of adjustment can help refine the interaction between the leg and the cuff.

Contour 4™

Contour 4™ focuses on anatomically shaping the shell around areas where the foot typically has more prominent anatomical points. The objective is to create a precise foundation for positioning the foot while reducing unnecessary pressure in sensitive areas.

Combined with MY FIT, the DRS 90 LC therefore brings together a close performance fit with additional opportunities for individual customisation.

Drive & Control

Drive & Control supports the boot’s focus on effective ski control. In the DRS 90 LC, precise transmission of movements between the leg, shell and ski is particularly important, allowing a performance-oriented skier to actively work with the edges and control the shape of the turn.

LOCKED CUFF

LOCKED CUFF emphasises a firm and stable cuff function during alpine skiing. The DRS 90 LC construction is focused on support and precise power transmission rather than a walk mode typically associated with touring ski boots.

The supplied information does not specify the exact mechanism or any adjustment range, so additional functions should not be assumed.

Micro Alu Bucles

Micro Alu Bucles refers to aluminium buckles that allow finer adjustment of buckle tension. This makes it possible to set the shell closure more precisely according to the individual foot and the desired level of retention.

The technical specifications confirm four D5 buckles, giving the boot a traditional four-buckle closure system.

MY FIT

MY FIT is one of the important features of the DRS 90 LC. According to the supplied information, it allows both the shell and the liner to be shaped, making it possible to adapt the boot more closely to the anatomy of the individual foot.

With a narrow 98 mm race-oriented shell, this capability is particularly valuable. The purpose of proper customisation is not to turn the boot into a wide comfort model, but to preserve its precise hold while addressing problematic pressure points.

OVERLAP DESIGN

OVERLAP DESIGN is a traditional two-piece shell construction with overlapping sections. In the DRS 90 LC, it forms the foundation of the boot’s firm and precise structure, supporting stability under load and efficient lateral power transmission towards the ski edges.

The rigid RACE PU shell also helps maintain the required support as the boot flexes and contributes to vibration damping during dynamic skiing.

LC – Low Cuff: a lower cuff for junior and lighter skiers

The LC designation stands for Low Cuff, meaning a lower cuff construction. This is a fundamental design feature of the model because cuff height has a significant influence on how effectively a skier can work with the boot.

The lower cuff is better suited to the proportions of junior and lighter skiers and, combined with the 90 flex, allows them to use fore-aft movement more effectively. The DRS 90 LC therefore retains the performance-oriented character of the DRS line while adapting it to skiers who may not be able to make optimal use of a higher and considerably stiffer race construction.

RACE PU shell construction

The shell is made from RACE PU, a polyurethane material used for the performance and race-oriented construction of this model. Combined with OVERLAP DESIGN, it creates a firm foundation that supports the foot during active loading.

Shell stability is particularly important for rapid transmission of movements towards the ski edges. The construction focuses on precision and support during dynamic ski control, matching the performance and race-oriented purpose of the DRS 90 LC.

DB COMP LC liner

Inside the boot is a DB COMP LC liner, corresponding to the model’s performance character and lower-cuff construction. According to the supplied information, the liner is part of the MY FIT system and can be shaped together with the shell for improved adaptation to the skier’s foot.

The manufacturer also emphasises thermal comfort in the updated liner. In such a precision-focused boot, however, correct foot positioning and an effective connection with the shell remain priorities.

Four D5 buckles and 40 mm Power Strap

The closure system consists of four D5 buckles, with Micro Alu Bucles technology allowing finer adjustment of their tension. This enables the skier to progressively adjust the retention of different areas of the foot and cuff according to individual requirements.

The upper section is complemented by a 40 mm Power Strap, helping to create a secure connection between the shin, liner and cuff. Together with the buckles, the closure system matches the precise, performance-oriented character of the boot.

Weight and performance character

The manufacturer specifies a weight of 2,105 g. The supplied information does not specify the size to which this value applies or whether it refers to one boot, so these details should not be assumed.

With the DRS 90 LC, the primary objective is not minimum weight, but rather the combination of a supportive shell, precise fit and the stability required for performance and race-oriented skiing.

The manufacturer code is D2302004.00, while the product code is N23001982.

Race-line performance adapted to junior skiers

The DALBELLO DRS 90 LC make particular sense as a step between conventional junior performance boots and significantly stiffer race constructions. They retain the narrow 98 mm shell, firm RACE PU material, OVERLAP DESIGN and precise four-buckle closure, while combining these elements with the lower LC cuff and a flex of 90.

This combination allows a highly skilled junior or lighter skier to benefit from the precision and support of a race-oriented construction without having to work against an excessively high cuff or overly stiff flex.

Why choose the DALBELLO DRS 90 LC?

The DALBELLO DRS 90 LC are designed for highly skilled junior and lighter skiers who want a precise, performance-to-race-oriented ski boot and are capable of taking full advantage of its technical character. The key combination is the lower LC cuff, flex index of 90 and narrow 98 mm last, creating a construction better suited to the needs of the intended skier.

RACE PU and OVERLAP DESIGN provide a firm foundation for precise power transmission, while Contour 4™ and MY FIT offer greater scope for individual fit customisation. Four aluminium D5 buckles with fine adjustment and a 40 mm Power Strap complete the construction with a secure and precisely adjustable closure.

For a junior skier who has progressed beyond ordinary recreational skiing and needs a performance-oriented boot for further technical and racing development, the DALBELLO DRS 90 LC offer a highly focused solution that brings the character of the DRS line into a construction better suited to junior and lighter skiers.
