versatile all-mountain skis with enhanced safety binding
The HEAD Discovery 86 Pro is a flagship all-mountain ski designed for skiers who want one reliable setup for the entire day. Combined with the Protector EVO PR 11 GW binding, this set delivers strong performance across various conditions while significantly improving safety.
This binding features Full Heel Release technology, designed to reduce strain on the knees during falls.

The TYROLIA Anti-Friction Slider (AFS) provides not only secure boot release but also rapid and exact boot re-centering. For better safety and reliability.
This ski is equipped with a Better Balance Base.
The inclined Better Balance Base provides a constant ramp angle for all boot sole sizes, ensuring that all skiers enjoy the same mechanical advantage for easy turn initiation and stability at high speeds.
The BTR kinematics allows for constant release values in backward twisting falls. It compensates friction due to two different release characteristics based on vertical load. In the event of a backward twisting fall, the toe’s wings are pressed upward and shift to a new hinge point. This modified lever arm compensates for the increased forces, ensuring a consistent release behavior.
The TYROLIA Full Diagonal Release function delivers intelligent 180° release both horizontally and vertically.
Graphene is a 2D material that even when an atom thick is one of the strongest and lightest materials on earth. Used zonally in a board it magnifies a board’s positive characteristics. GRAPHENE is the thinnest and lightest element ever discovered by mankind. GRAPHENE is also the strongest material on the planet, stronger than diamond and 300 times stronger than steel, all in the thickness of one atom.
The TYROLIA Roller Pincer Toe System (TRP System) with its four rollers allows a 180° release and exact centering of the ski boot. The TRP system reduces the load on knees and ligaments and improves performance considerably.
The kinematic improvements are reflected in the product design of the TX toe as well. With its high cheek bones, it reminds of a fox – smart, spry, agile and very clever.
Auxetic is a unique structure that expands in width when stretched in length. In our skis, this means the structure strengthens under pressure.
Accommodates all Alpine ski boots (ISO 5355 TYPE A) plus all GripWalk ski boots (ISO 23223 TYPE A)
Full Heel Release (FHR)
The Full Heel Release Technology delivers intelligent 180° release both horizontally and vertically ensuring maximum safety in forward and backward twisting fall situations. The FHR function can reduce ACL strain by more than 50%*.

This ski is ready for PROTECTOR.
The PROTECTOR binding works with all skis with pre-mounted PowerRail or SuperLiteRail base. All flat skis work with the PROTECTOR Attack binding or the PROTECTOR SET versions.
Thanks to its FULL HEEL RELEASE function, the PROTECTOR binding can reduce ACL strain by more than 50%* in the event of a fall.
As the ski flexes in the turn the Auxetic material expands within the construction it builds up pressure pushing against the Superframe causing the ski to get stiffer the more it flexes.
