Zéfal - French water bottles and bike accessories
The history of Zéfal dates back to the late 19th century, and therefore almost to the history of the bicycle. In 1880, when the velocipede was born, the Poutrait-Morin company, which became Zéfal a century later, began producing bicycle accessories. Over the past 140 years, the company based in Jargeau on the Loire in France has shaped the development of cycling accessories countless times through pioneering innovations and left its mark. With the invention of the bicycle tube, Poutrait-Morin developed the Presta valve, which quickly became the standard, now also known as the Sclaverand or French valve.
A number of other developments followed that make one thing clear: Zéfal is not only home to 130 years of tradition and experience, but above all it means that Zéfal has always been innovative for more than 130 years. Until today.
At the company's headquarters in Jargeau, the conditions are ideal for this. All know-how is concentrated on 15,000 square metres and all the technological prerequisites are given to be able to carry out almost all production steps in-house. Clever, well thought-out products, which, thanks to this technological pool and strict quality control at all stages of productionthe result is the excellent workmanship and reliability to which Zéfal owes its excellent reputation.
This applies to drinking bottles and bottle cages as well as to wheel covers, wheel fastening systems and other product groups. And of course also for the "Pumps" area, which, in keeping with tradition, still occupies a large part of the Zéfal product range today. A lot of air is indeed produced at Jargeau, but the proverbial "hot air" is not one of them.
